This book is designed to help you, as a parent or friend, help a child cope with death. As the child works through Where is Robert? they will recognize their feelings of grief in the characters, especially in Chrissy and her dog Peanut.
Chrissy and Peanut are given a plain white box and a box of crayons to create a special memory box and memory journal of her brother Robert who has just died. They soon come to the realization that Robert lives in their memories and how comforting that is. The child is encouraged to create their very own special memory box and journal. Along with the book the child receives a 7 1/2 inches x 9 inches and 2 1/2 depth white box, a blank memory journal and a box of Crayola crayons. The child is offered to write to Chrissy and receive a letter back. This book was written to help other children realize they are not alone. “Easily presented to children. Not threatening to children. The memory book is a wonderful idea as well as creating memories.” -Ann Swallow, Program Manager Niagara Victim Crisis Support Services
